All your questions:
How do I pair my new Moto Mote?
Super easy!
1) get on something tall (safely)
2) press (or sometimes hold) your 'learn' or 'program' button on your opener
3) slowly press the remote's button two times. third time should start moving the door!
Will it work with my opener?
Probably!
I make two specific models:
- One is compatible with Genie and Overhead Door openers made from 1995 to present day. If you programmed your last remote with dipswitches, this one won't work for you, otherwise it should be good to go.
- The other is compatible with Liftmaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman openers made from about 1993 up until today using Security+ or Security+ 2.0. Compatible openers will have a green, yellow, orange, red, or purple learn button on the unit.
Most gates/sliders/other remote controlled things will not work with my remotes.
If you're unsure, send me a message using the contact page above!
Can I use it with my car/truck/tractor/skid steer/other vehicle?
Hell yeah you can.
It's 3D printed? That sounds cheap and tacky.
3D printing has come a very long way in the last decade.
I do my best to make them the cleanest prints possible, but there may be manufacturing leftovers associated with 3d printing such as visible layer lines or slight distortions.
I use PA6-GF filament, which is a glass fiber reinforced nylon. This will stand up to heat, humidity, and abuse for MANY years. It's an engineering quality filament and honestly overkill for what it is. Just don't attach it directly to your exhaust, header, or other hot engine parts and it'll be fine.
Can I buy one to work with both Genie and Chamberlain/Liftmaster/Craftsman?
Unfortunately, no. My base circuit boards are not truly universal across the two main manufacturing groups. Please make sure you make the right selection when adding a Moto Mote to your cart.
Will it work with Security+ 3.0?
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Nooooo.
No aftermarket support has been added for 3.0, yet, and using their remotes as a base would cause products to be $100+, which just isn't right in my mind. Maybe down the road!
I bought the wrong learn button color, how do I fix that?
Super easy!
1) unscrew the two screws and remove the lid
2) hold down both white buttons until the red and green LED's flash
3) press the white button that has the wires and epoxy near it once to change between modes
Red LED: yellow and green learn buttons
Green LED: purple, red, orange learn buttons
I bought the wrong brand, how do I fix that?
That happens! Reach out through the contact page or your order confirmation and we can arrange an exchange. Remotes are not cross compatible between Genie and Chamberlain Group.
Is it waterproof or IP rated?
Technically: no. I haven't gotten it ingress tested and there are holes and openings in the Moto Mote.
In practice: It basically is. The physical button is raised from the bottom of the housing, so it'd be incredibly difficult (but not impossible) to short that out. The transmitter housing has a hole for the wire to come out and screws, isn't gasket sealed, but does fine getting splashed and sprayed. I wouldn't take a direct pressure washer to it, but if it sees occasional rain it'll survive with no problems.
Are you affiliated with any of the manufacturers?
Absolutely not. My products are compatible with, but not endorsed or made in association with any major manufacturer. All manufacturers and product names (Chamberlain, Liftmaster, Craftsman, Genie, Overhead Door Company, Intellicode, Security+, etc.) are owned by their respective companies and unaffiliated with PMD and Moto Mote
